200 years ago, Mizoram was not in the map, and its inhabitants were all illiterate and nomadic. They were confined to the limits of tribal village and their jhum-land. When Britishers came to Mizoram in late Nineteenth Century, none of the Mizo could read and write, but within a century, Mizoram has became the second most-literate State of India.
