Roads :
The first Road link to
Mizoram was established in 1889 between Tlabung and Lunglei in the Western part
of the State for military use by the Britishers. Now Mizoram has a wide and
efficient road-connectively.

NH-54 connects the State with
other parts of the country through Silchar(Assam)., along which Regular Bus,
Night-Bus, Deluxe-Bus, Sumo service etc. are regularly plying.

NH-150 connects the state with
Seling (Mizoram) - Imphal (Manipur) - Kohima (Nagaland)

NH-40A(Under construction) links the State with Tripura which will also
provide connectively to Bangladesh.

Road between Champhai (Mizoram) and Tiddim (Burma) will soon connect the
two countries.
Air Services : Mizoram
finds its place in the Air map with the opening of Lengpui Airport (near Aizawl)
and this Airport can be reached from Kolkata by Air within a short period of 40
minutes. There are three Boeing services in a week. The frequency is expected to
be increased within a short period. Mizoram is also accessible from Kolkata via
Silchar Airport, which is about 200 Kms. from the state capital of Mizoram.
Train/Railways : Mizoram
can be easily reached by train at Bairabi (Mizoram) rail station
or via Silchar (Assam) . Bairabi is about 110 Kms, where Silchar is about
180 Kms. from the state capital.
Water ways :
Mizoram has a potential of developing water ways with Bangladesh on the
west along R.Khawthlangtuipui leading to the Chittagong port and the port of
Akyab (Sittwe) in Myanmar along R.Chhimtuipui.
Telecommunications:
Telephone facilities are available in all the District headquarters.
Capital town Aizawl is served with an Electronic Telephone Exchange with STD
facilites.
